As 2020 comes to a close, we eagerly await the start of a new year, perhaps unlike ever before. This week affords us the rare opportunity to consider what we have learned and what God has done in an old year while preparing our hearts for what God has called us to in a new year. The dual nature of that vision (looking back and looking forward) is a familiar position for us as Christians. We are often called to reflect on what God has done through his birth, life, death, and resurrection. As we reflect, those historical truths are meant to propel us forward to a life of faith, hope, and holiness.
