Providence is not led by one pastor but by a plurality of elders (1 Peter 5:1-2; Acts 20:17-18,28; 1 Timothy 5:17). At Providence, we have a team of elders that are all equal in authority and responsibility. Together, the elders lead the church according to their unique gifts and abilities. Responsibilities of our elders include:

1. Shepherd the church (1 Peter 5:2, Acts 20:20, 1 Timothy 3:5)
2. Be examples to the church, not lording over (1 Peter 5:3)
3. Equip the church for ministry (1 Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:9; Ephesians 4:12)
4. Manage the church as overseers (1 Timothy 3:5, 5:17)
5. Pray for the sick (James 5:14-15)
6. Refute those who contradict truth (Titus 1:9,11)
