Built into the very fabric of our democracy is a mechanism that enables hope for millions of people. Our ability to vote for and choose our leaders is a beautiful part of our nation. Unfortunately, this small, fleeting hope has become the ultimate source of hope for far too many. When this happens- the process will inevitably begin to self-destruct. The truth is that politics doesn’t carry the power we think it does. Nebuchadnezzar’s story is a powerful reminder of this truth- and a powerful reminder for us as we vote this Tuesday.
